Our Master Saddlers, Michael
Dainton, specializes in the creation of custom bridles designed
specifically by you for your horse.
Each piece of our our custom bridle
is made according to the measurements you provide us. If your
horse needs a larger brow band or a longer cheek piece, for
instance, we'll construct exactly what you need.
Whether you want to replicate an
existing bridle or start your own design from scratch, we
provide you with a one-of-a-kind bridle made according to your
specifications.
All of our custom bridles are made of
English Sedgwick leather known world-wide for its suppleness, strength
and durability.
Our Master Saddler uses Sedgwick in part
because it is pit tanned and hand curried, which results in
stronger fibers and a smoother, softer finish.
Sedgwick makes its leathers
specifically for equestrian products and produces popular colors
ranging from light Havana to black.

Each custom bridle is completely
hand crafted -- often with traditional tools more than 200 years
old.
Michael, for instance, prefers to
use a pricking wheel made in the early 1800s (pictured right),
because, he says, it's much more precise than more modern
versions.
"The quality of these old
English-made tools is unsurpassed," he says.
